Very Good Good Some Good Poor Very Poor Forward Gamlingay! is the name for an umbrella initiative designed to expand and develop Sport, Youth, Education and Leisure facilities in Gamlingay. The original idea was simply to provide proper youth facilities for the village. However, the scheme has expanded so that funds can be raised to improve a variety of the clubs and facilities that we all can use. The fantastic rebuilding of the Butts play area represents the springboard for the Forward Gamlingay! Project. There will be many more to come. The volunteers who have come forward to run this scheme are working hard to develop plans and raise money for a number of village projects, including expanding the community centre; building a skate park and youth shelter; rebuilding the Scout hut area next to the First School; improving the recreation field and building a new multi sport area and playing fields down by Millbridge brook (by the tennis courts). The diagram shows all the areas we will represent and gives you an idea of how large this scheme is! There's lots to do, and a key part of getting Forward Gamlingay! on track is to make sure that we speak now to all the clubs and organisations who wish to be represented in the plans, and that we haven't yet spoken to. So if you organise a club or group involved in any of the areas of Sport, Youth, Education and Leisure in the village, and are not yet on board, now is your time to come forward and speak to us!
